Life is like running in a life fitness treadmill, to keep your balance, you need to keep moving.
Have you always loved working out but lacked the actual motivation to begin? Do you find it hard to find time to exercise?
Has it been a struggle for you to build a consistent exercise habit?
Let me tell you what…
You’re not alone.
After months of being on hiatus mode, yesterday, I thought of going back to the grind. I went to hit the gym.
But there was a problem.
Did you ever feel like this sometimes? Your mind tells you to move your body, but your body says otherwise??
That’s exactly what happened to me yesterday. It was really a struggle for me to keep myself going….
…Well, at least when I started!
We all have that sluggish start
I felt like I was a lousy lifter when I started my routines. Heck, even those 5-pound weights seem as though I was lifting an elephant!
I really had a hard time picking my rhythm.
But hey, I needed to get going.
Tough times never last. But tough people do. – Robert H. Schuller
I tried keeping up with the weights but it was just hard for me to get my rhythm.
That was when I decided to hit the life fitness treadmill instead.
This is what I like about treadmills.
Once you turn it on, it’s almost impossible to turn it off. Once you get those feet working, it forces you to move your feet. (I almost forgot I’m dealing with a machine)
Because if you don’t, you will stumble and fall.
Fake it ’till you make it
It’s a cliche, right? But perhaps this is what they mean when they say this.
You need to keep moving for you to keep your balance. So does with the life fitness treadmill!
And you know, slowly I started to run. I was telling myself…
If I could make it at 5 mins, I bet I’ll have a chance to make it at 10 minutes.
True enough, I did!
As a matter of fact, when I made it to the 10-minute mark, it was as if my body was telling me to push a little further.
Hey, I didn’t only finish doing the treadmill for 5 minutes.
…Not only did I make it to the 10-minute mark.
…20 minutes? Naaahhhh.
I finished to the tune of 30 minutes!
Now, you might be saying…
Common March, you’re a triathlete, that’s given!
Did I tell you that I haven’t run for almost a year?
Here’s my point…
In the same way as life…
Life is like running in a life fitness treadmill. To keep your balance, you need to keep moving.
Sure, there are days when you’re not in the mood. (that’s given)
But don’t allow yourself to stay there. Somehow, you also need to find your rhythm. Find your pace.
Once you get your pace, you will become unstoppable. It won’t be easy. But we all start somewhere.
And how do you keep up with the pace? By creating a HABIT. (I just have to emphasize that. )
What habits are you creating today? You’ll never know where that simple habit will take you.
What’s the key to creating a habit, you ask?
Here’s what you need to do.
TAKE ACTION!
You need those feet moving.
I won’t promise it will be a walk in the park. But if you just keep up with the pace. If you keep doing it?
I promise it will all be worth it!
Rooting for you,
March Nacino
